Learning to Swim

Dear Thambi,

The water is DEEP and COLD. And you won't be able to float yet. Nope, that took me like two cycles of swimming classes.....

Anyways, Madam Tan will save you in case of anything, I'll bee too busy screaming for help.

Oh my.......You're braver than me in that aspect, at least you let go off the sides and went straight into the water.

Maybe when you grow a bit taller you will be able to stand in the water like me.

Go swim, brother!

Our visit to the Berry chocolate factory

Hi Eshvarhen,

It wa a cool visit wasn't it? We saw how the chocoloate was made, then we ate all the chocoloates.

And the burger at Mcdonalds was the greatest highlight ever.

It was good to have you with me on the tour, Eshvarhen.

High FIVE,
Annai

Mandarin Class

Dear Eshvarhen,

It was great fun having you with me at the Mandarin tuition ( we'll be going for the next whole month because it's school holidays).

The best part about the class, and I think you WILL agree, is the end of it when Teacher Ting gives us both sweets.

The problem is, we needed to eat it before going home or we would have a fight with Bagyashri.

No worries, Thambi, I think we can swallow the sweets next time in the car, VERY quickly.

Your partner,
Annai

The little teacher( no need to be)

Dear Eshvarhen,

You are not Bagyashri's teacher. When she goes to school, the teacher will teach her to read APPLE and CAT.

YOU just mind your own work and try to do the matching that Amma asks you to do (with the new colour pencils that you got from Attai)

Love,
Annai

The thoughtful cook

Dear Eshvarhen,

You're playing curry masak just like me, and I like it when we cook dog and cat curry for Amma and Appa to eat. You're actually pretty clever, turning on th stove and cutting the vegetables with the play knife. You do know we're not allowed to use real knives right? I can't imagine how angry Amma will become.......

I hear you're grown to be 90cm........that's not too bad....I think I must have been around that height when I was your age. Soon you'll be 1m....but never as tall as me, coz I would have grown up and become taller....if you dont understand TALLER, that's alright, you'll learn when you go to school.

Thanks for bringing water for me to drink each time you ask Ghandima for water.....although it does get a bit annoying when I DON'T want the water and you still insist I drink it. Thanks also for the time that you pat my head when I cough........

I love you, Thambi....you're my best friend too.....

Kisses,
Annai

Watching TV and counting coins

Dear Eshvarhen,

When you want to watch tv, please have a care and not stand in my way, because I'm watching tv too. And didn't Amma tell you not to stand so close to the television? Your total attention is on the screen and stand there for the whole 30 minute watching Mickey Mouse.

And stop counting the coins and throwing them all over the bedroom floor, Amma makes me pick them up, not you.

And the story books are meant for reading, not to be drawn on. I don't mind personally but you know Amma doesn't like it and starts scolding.

Can you please learn to be a little less naughty? For both our sakes.

And by the way, a tiger, be it on television or in the book, is a tiger, it is not a WoWo.

Love,
Annai

Oliver Twist

Eshvarhen,

You looks so pitiful standing there with the bowl and spoon and asking Amma and Appa for some of the food which they are eating.

Actually, it's really funny. I think I used to do the same.

Looks like we're definitely related after all.....*sigh*

Cry Baby

Eshvarhen, please don’t cry as if Amma is going to leave you. She’s just going to get your milk. She’s going to think I pushed you or something. Then who’s going to get the scolding?

Even if I did push you or pull you, you should not cry. I’m just “playing”. Be a sport.

Love,
Annai

The things 7 1/2 months do.....

Dearest Thambi,

It's amazing how quickly you crawl from the kitchen to the hall. But I'd really appreciate it if you stopped climbing over me. All I want to do is watch my cartoon. Maybe someone needs to point out to you that I'm not a stool.

You're being naughty , always wanting people to be by your side while you play your silly game of stuffing the toys in your mouth. Appa and Amma probably think it's cute, but I think it's just plain boring. Been there, done that.

You're noisy because you'r always banging the table and the stairs as you stand.....and then you fall down because you THINK you can stand without support. ANDneedless to say, you have to wail the place down and drown out all the delightful cartoon music. Just so you know, I could only stand by myself when I was 8 1/2 months. Since we're genetically related, maybe you cbe an just patient and spare me the earache.

I guess you think you can talk, but all you're saying in "bab bab bab...appa". Most of the times you try to talk to me, it sounds as though you're screaming. Amma tells me you're "cooing".....any idea what that means?

I think it's disgusting the was you spit your food out when Amma and Patti feed you your breakfast and lunch. I know I would get a good spanking if I tried to spit my food out.

You don't want to eat you food, but you fight to eat mine, And you're always trying to drink out of my bottle. Can't you tell the difference between pink and white? MINE is pink, YOURS is white.

You're 7 1/2 months as I write this entry to tell you just how much you're affecting me without you knowing it. Appa said you're 72 cm, I suppose that's a good height. I'm 97cm as I write this. Just thought I'd mention it.

But you know what, Eshvarhen, after all has been said, I think you're extremely adorable and cute. I just love the way you observe me in silent admiration as I kick ball and play pistol. Don't worry, I won't allow anyone to carry you away. Just stay next to me, I'll keep you safe.

I love you, Eshvarhen. Good night.

Hugs,
Sakkti velan
