Amma goes back to work....

Hello everyone,

Today, Amma went back to work, and Annai and I were alone with Mina Patti.

Annai seemed to be relaxed, watching television and talking to himself.

I guess it was alright, but I was sort of looking for Amma in the first few hours, wondering where she had gone to.....

That's when Mina Patti asked me what I was looking for, and I answered her....and I guess she understood my baby talk.....because she said, "Amma velaiyikku poi irukkaranga.....saiyingalam varuvanga....."

Oh.

Ehsvarhen's first accident- and what a scary one!

Dear Eshvarhen,

We had to rush you to the hospiatl because the string that we used to tie the "vasambu' around your wrist had cut into your hand. The cut has apparently been there for a while, becasue some of your skin had grown over it.

The doctor applied a bit on anaesthtic cream on your wrist, and pulled the string out. I thank God they did no have to do a surgery on your to remove it.

When you grow up, you will see a faint scar on your wrist. This log is to remind you and us how you got it. And to remind me to be more careful to watch out when you continue crying unnecessarily.

I'm so sorry, baby.

On the 30th day of my life

Hello everyone,
This is Eshvarhen, and I'm continuing the blog that Appa had started off for me.
Thank you, Appa, for the welcome, but like it or not....this baby is here to stay...yeah!
Well, we celebrated my 30th day on the 18th of October. After the prayers, there was a huge Deepavali celebration in my house.
The next morning, on the 19th of October, I had my baby hair shaved by a barber. Sam Mama held me while I cried and cried as the barber shaved all my hair off to reveal a clean round scalp.

Amma said that Annai was quite disturbed by the fact that I had to have all my hair shaved off, and he was afraid that his hair would have to be shaved next.

Don't worry, Annai, it's a one time thingy for babies. you had yours removed too on your 31st day. I know because Amma told me so.

Announcing Eshvarhen!

Dearest Eshvarhen,

Welcome to the family. We're delighted with your addition, and I just can't wait to see the day when you grow old enough to pick a fight with Sakkti Velan. It'll be the happiest day of my fatherhood.

Well, son, you were born on the 19th of September at exactly 11.37 p.m. in the night at the same hospital in which your Amma, Sakkti Velan and I were born in. Your Amma was really hoping you'll be born on this date, and I guess, just like your brother, you heard her prayers.

Your Amma's labour lasted only for four hours, and then you were born. I guess when we compare that to the 24 hours labour she had with Sakkti Velan....well, I guess she must have been glad.

Okay, so you were born 3.2kg, and 52 cm. That means you're longer than your brother, but only time will tell if you will grow up to be taller. You did not have jaundice, whihc was a hge relief, because were we sad with the thought that you might have to spend a day or two in the hospital all alone.

When we brought you home on the 21st, Sakkti Velan was a little shocked to see you....but nevertheless, he played the role of an Annai and quickly gave you one of the two baby dolls he was holding in his hand. You were of course fast asleep, but at that moment, my heart was filled with so much pride for my brood, I thought it would burst!

Well, Eshvarhen.....I've made this little introduction for you, and I hope you like it, son.

Welcome again, and thank you for completing me further with your presence in our lives. I think your Amma shares my exact views, and I'm sure, so does Sakkti Velan.

Love and hugs,
Appa
